My Original Zin
One of my favorite Zinfandels. Coming from an old head trained vineyard in one of the coolest areas of Amador, called Fiddletown (elevation 1683 ft). The volcanic soils that these vines are grown in produce wines that focus on red fruits, wild herbs, freshly cracked pepper and are rounded out with sweet, toasted oak on the nose.
A medium full bodied wine that always shows a sense of balance and intensity. Black cherry, raspberry, black licorice, crushed red and black peppercorns, with just enough structure that makes this wine crave for Bistro foods. Once called the Eschen Vineyard for many years, and produced by Ridge Vineyards, it was not only the one that turned me on to wine, but also my passion for Zinfandel. I call it 'Full Circle'.
