96 James Suckling Heritage, Organic Fiddletown, Amador County Vineyard Aged in Terra Cotta Amphora
Aged completely in Terra Cotta Amphora. What I like about using the Amphora is that it always expresses the vineyard in such a different way than when aged in barrels. The Amphora brings a brighter nose to the wine and thus the black cherry and pepper components of this wine are highlighted and soar from the glass, followed by savory notes and a touch warm puff pastry dough. The medium-full bodied palate is a total reflection of the aromatics. The wine coats the palate from front and mid palate to the beautiful long finish.
