An ambitious collaboration between Jeff Cohn of Sonoma County and Todd Alexander of Force Majeure in Walla Walla, Washington.
Aromatics of roasted earth and savory components soar from the glass. In the background blackberry-boysenberry starts to make itself the primary aspect of the aromas, with just a touch of black licorice and mocha. On the palate this wine is opulent and incredibly intense from the front palate to the finish. The primary aspect of this wine is terroir driven savory notes of Herbs de Provence, grilled meats, Australian black licorice and wild blackberries from this cobblestone vineyard.
95 James Suckling This powerful but polished wine is deep and dense, with plenty of ripe black fruit, black pepper, iron and chalk notes that give it plenty of personality.
